Learn why it’s good news all around.
The new Wi-Fi specification, Wi-Fi 6Ghz is about to arrive in Canada.
Some of us may have already noticed the 5Ghz band available on our home or work networks.
Well now there’s about to be an even newer bandwidth, Wi-Fi 6Ghz.
The 5Ghz band is a higher frequency than its predecessor. It works better when you are closer to the source and not in-between objects. The new Wi-Fi 6Ghz band will be very similar.
The new spectrum is touted to become an open frequency channel for all devices.
What will Wi-Fi 6Ghz mean for me?
The idea is to make the internet a less saturated place.
It will impact you the most if you live in a high-density area, such as an apartment building.
Due to the many Wi-Fi networks operating in close proximity on the same band, it can get congested.
The available space is about to quadruple.
Even if you choose not to upgrade to Wi-Fi 6Ghz, others will, which will make your network faster.
So whether you’re working from home, gaming or just streaming movies – it’s good news all around!

Wi-Fi 6Ghz means faster speeds for everyone
It is only a matter of time before we see it in Canada as it has just been given the green light.
